Abstract
Literature is reflection of life rather it’s life itself and it questions what we human beings are. Moreover, we human beings and our life style are constructed by implicit human psychic patterns. Therefore, Psychoanalytical lens of criticism lays way to dive deep into a character’s unconscious, portrayed in literature, bringing out ameliorated comprehension of his or her attitude and behavior.Accordingly, this is one of the scientific modes exploited by literary critics to explain, interpret and justify human deeds and actions, in literary works specifically and in real world generally. How does psychology mend and amend man’s behavior is pivot point of present paper. Keeping character of Belikov at center, the short story “A MAN WHO LIVED IN THE SHELL”, by Anton Chekhov, is analyzed through Freudian psychoanalytic theory. Psychologically disturbed and distorted plus socially bound and bordered Belikov puts a perpetual coat of procrastination and a covering of fear; consequently, renders himself unsocial and disagreeable in society.

मानव का व्यक्तित्व संपूर्ण, विनम्र और दुनिया के लिए उपयोगी बनता है शिक्षा के माध्यम से । उचित शिक्षा एवं व्यवहार से मानवीय गरिमा, स्वाभिमान और विश्व बंधुत्व में वृद्वि होती हैं। हाल ही में उच्च शिक्षा में विद्यार्थियों के संपूर्ण विकास को ध्यान में रखते हुए प्रदेश के समस्त महाविद्यालयों में व्यक्तित्व विकास प्रकोष्ठ का गठन किया जाना भी जरूरी किया गया और साथ ही इसके क्रियान्वयन हेतु समस्त महाविद्यालयों में क्रियाशील समिति का गठन कर वर्ष भर कार्यक्रम आयोजित करने के निर्देश भी संबंधित अधिकारियों को दिए गये। निश्चित ही यह कदम समस्त विद्यार्थियों के सर्वांगीण विकास में सहायक होगा, साथ ही उन्हें आत्मविश्वास से भरकर जीवन के प्रतिकूल समय में भी डटकर सामना करना सिखायेगा। जरूरी हैं इसमें विद्यार्थियों की भागीदारी पूर्ण रूप से हो एवं महाविद्यालयों में इसका रुचिपूर्वक क्रियान्वयन किया जाये। उक्त अध्ययन से पता चलता है कि महाविद्यालयों में संचालित एन.एस.एस., एन.सी.सी., व्यक्तित्व विकास प्रकोष्ठ, यूथ रेडक्रास, स्वामी विवेकानंद केरियर मार्गदर्षन, युवा उत्सव आदि अन्य योजनाएॅ एवं क्रार्यक्रम व्यक्तित्व विकास में अति महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते है|
